His sire and dam represent top bloodlines from Ireland, England Denmark and Australia. This nick has produced several wonderful ponies who've gone on to breeding homes and have demonstrated that consistency in a pedigree pays off with consistency in offspring. As an individual, Rio has excellent conformation, with an enormous hip and sweeping topline. His neck is long and well shaped and his head gorgeous and sculpted. Rio is absolutely correct in his limbs with large well-shaped joints, very good bone and great feet. He's balanced and has a very deep body, making him suitable for even a taller rider, though I expect him to mature large pony, between 14 and 14.2 H. Rio has extraordinary movement that's completely correct, with LOTS of expression and loft. Powerful and balanced at all three gaits, Rio's trot and canter are especially dramatic. He will have the movement, athleticism and strength to be a super dressage pony for a serious competitor.
